You swallow your mind in hopes that you might find,
Yourself and salvation so you wage a war on yourself,
As fake as the world that you've come to call your own,
It's taken its toll but it doesn't have to,
End this way.,
You die day by day but it's only a war if you fight back,
Rise up against this death that you've come to call your home,
Is this the closest you've ever felt to being alive,
You pretend it’s real but we know your still dead inside.
I'd take your pain,
I'd take your death,
If it would set you free,
(So break away,)
From these chains,
And take me back,
To a world of old,
When you could feel something real,
And escape your distorted reality.
You die day by day but it's only a war if you fight back,
Rise up against this death that you've come to call your home,
Is this the closest you've ever felt to being alive,
You pretend it’s real but we know your still dead inside.
I can't watch you choke back death anymore,
Like the poor little snake that eats its tail,
I'll be waiting here until the cycle ends,
You have to fight this war you have to live again,
I'd sell my soul just to see you breathe again,
Without the tainted blood that drags you down,
Just take me back to how we used to be,
When your life was real and death was a fantasy.
You die day by day but it's only a war if you fight back,
Rise up against this death that you've come to call your home,
Is this the closest you've ever felt to being alive,
You pretend it’s real but we know your still dead inside.
